Simon Claxton (Navico Director Sales EMEA) paid a flying visit to Cape Town and Durban in April where he met up with distributors and appreciated the beautiful South African Autumn weather – a welcome respite from the English winter.
Lowrance's Liz Plotz gave him a spectacular bird's eye view of Durban from the top of the Moses Mabida stadium. He also attended the Durban Skiboat Festival for the first time and was amazed at the number of anglers participating and he really enjoyed the festive atmosphere.
Navico is the holding company of Lowrance International.

When Gerald Bell of Pinetown decided he wanted a Lowrance Mark 5x Pro unit for his boat – there was simply no stopping him.
The fact that his boat is an Explorer pontoon boat with no hard surfaces for mounting purposes – was just a challenge to be met and he rose to the occasion with an ingeniously simple solution.
Using an electrical light box for a base attached to an old handle proved to be a perfect mounting bracket for the side of his boat and another home-made bracket for the transducer completed the operation.
Gerald says the unit "worked like a bomb" on his first test run and those fish at Albert Falls and Inanda Dam had better watch out - this avid bass and trout angler has them in firmly in his sights.
